Ha, oh boy, I tried! I had every intention to make a double wedding ring quilt for my friend’s wedding, but it ended up being so difficult that I called it quits when it was only large enough to be a wall-hanging!

But! I do know what I would do differently!! First, I used paper templates (I xeroxed them out of a book) and since then, I’ve seen acrylic templates like these that I would DEFINITELY recommend. Curved piecing isn’t easy, and the accuracy of your cutting could make or break you (it broke me).
Secondly, I discovered midway through my piecing that when you are joining a ring to a background piece, that you should begin your pinning in the center of the blocks and work your way out. The blocks match up a lot better when you start in the middle.
I hope that helps! In no way do I want to discourage you by saying that it is a hard pattern - it can be done, and it can be fun, and it will be beautiful!! Good luck and please post photos of your progress on tumblr!!!
